FAQs on Microblading
Microblading treatments are commonly requested, so here is a list of frequently asked questions. We know how important it is for you, our valued customers, to be well-educated so that you may make an informed decision. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional information not provided here.
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
While microblading falls under the category of permanent makeup, it is less intrusive and less permanent than regular cosmetic tattooing. Microblading can last anywhere from one to two years, depending on your skin type and regimen. Each 'hair' is delicately etched into the skin with an ultra-fine needle, creating an extraordinarily natural and realistic effect. With Microblading, people with sparse or nonexistent eyebrows, wrinkled or over-tweezed brows, or those who have had their eyebrows plucked prematurely can have their brows restored to their original fullness. Natural or intended brow color and skin tone are taken into account while selecting the pigments.
Microblading takes how long?
During your initial visit, we will go over the procedure in detail, perform a patch test, and ask you about a few preliminary health concerns. The first time you have Microblading done, expect to be there for about 2 hours. To ensure that you are entirely satisfied, your technician will work with you one-on-one to sketch out your ideal eyebrow shape. After that, we'll determine which pigment shade is perfect for you. We'll begin the process as soon as you're happy.
In order to have any small corrections made after your initial retouch, you must return for a follow-up appointment. 4-6 weeks following the initial visit, you'll return for a touch-up appointment that should take you about 1 to 1.5 hours.
DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES TO GET BETTER?
Immediately following the operation, the brows will be slightly irritated and the pigment will appear extremely dark. This is a natural side effect of the operation and will go away once the wound has healed. As the wound heals, the color will fade by up to 40%. You'll notice some scabbing and darkening of the brows in the following days. Picking at the scabs might injure the skin and the microbladed area, so please refrain from doing so. During the healing process, the eyebrows will become lighter in color. After the microblading operation, there is no downtime necessary, but the area may feel bruised for a short while. A full month is required for the color to fully set in. The healing time is 7–14 days. Two weeks following the treatment, you'll see that the color has almost totally faded. Even if the surface of the skin is healed, the tissue continues to recover from the inside out. Once the wounds have healed completely, the true color will emerge.
Is an appointment for consultation required?
Absolutely. It is in both of our interests to participate in the consultation process. During this time, you can get to know the technician better, ask any and all questions you have, and confirm that you are comfortable moving through with the procedure. During this time, we will go through some pre-procedure health questions with you to ensure that no further information is required, and we will provide you with the opportunity to seek your doctor's consent if necessary. A scratch test of the pigment and anesthetic is also performed during the consultation; this is significantly more effective than a standard patch test and can only be performed in the clinic at least 48 hours prior to the treatment itself.
Is it necessary to have a follow-up appointment?
Absolutely. Everyone's healing is different, so a retouch session after four to six weeks is required. In some cases, the first time you visit, you may need to have some sections refilled if they don't pick up. The color of the pigment, the thickness of the brows, and the number of strokes can all be changed. Because oily skin tends to lighten pigment, clients with retouch appointments generally need a darker shade. During your retouch session, your brows will be fine-tuned so that they look their best and maintain their color for the entire year.
CAN I MAKE MY RETOUCH APPOINTMENT EARLIER THAN 4 WEEKS?
There must be at least four weeks between the first microblading treatments before retouches can be performed, as a pigment hasn't set into the skin. In order to avoid scarring, the tissue must be allowed to fully heal.
Is it painful?
The technique has a low to no pain threshold. A topical anaesthetic will be applied by your brow technician to numb the region prior to the operation, and this is usually enough to keep the brow area pleasant during the procedure itself. Depending on the patient, anesthesia can feel like a faint scratching to completely numb the area.
After the surgery, the area will be red and slightly swollen. As if they had been sunburned or bruised, clients report the area feeling a little like that.
WHAT IS THE TIME FRAME FOR THIS PROCEDURE?
Traditional tattoos require a deeper incision, and microblading does not. As a result, the ink fades over time. Microblading can last anywhere from one to two years, depending on the individual's skin type (normal, oily, or dry), age (young or old), and level of aftercare. Clients who frequently expose themselves to the sun (or use sunbeds) or use products containing AHA or Glycolic Acid will see their pigment fade faster since their skin will resurface more quickly. Those with oily skin can also benefit from this. The skin's ability to retain color varies from person to person. It is recommended that you have your brows retouched every 9-18 months to keep them appearing new. The microbladed region can fade over time, however it's important to remember that a little shadow may remain.
WHAT PRE AND POST CARE PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW?
For optimal results, it is best to adhere to the pre- and post-care guidelines.
Before undergoing a procedure, consumers are informed of the following:
For twenty-four hours following the treatment, you must:
WHO IS NOT AN APPROPRIATE CANDIDATE FOR THE PROCEDURE?
Microblading is not appropriate for individuals who:
Are you pregnant or nursing?
* We have the right to deny service to anyone we determine to be unsuitable for this treatment or for any other reason. Our brow technicians decide whether or not to microblade a client at their own discretion. We certainly DO NOT DO THE SERVICE IF YOU'RE PREGNANT OR NURSING.
RISK AND DIFFICULTIES?
Utilizing sterile equipment, new, individually packaged needles for each client, and adhering to the most stringent hygiene routine, we take every effort to guarantee that your treatment is performed to the highest of standards. If patients adhere to our pre- and post-care guidelines, the risk of problems is negligible. Although allergic reactions to the anesthetic and/or pigments are uncommon, they are possible in a few patients. We always need a patch test for every client to ensure that this never occurs.
WHAT IF IT DOESN'T SUIT ME?
As with any cosmetic operation, individuals must carefully consider their options. When making judgments, we constantly advise clients to conduct study, comprehend the technique, and compare the work and portfolios of various artists. Before the operation, our brow technician will make every effort to shape and style your eyebrows to your satisfaction. Although every effort will be made to create symmetry, please understand that our faces are never absolutely symmetrical. During the retouch visit, imperfections can be corrected. During this appointment, pigment discoloration and color correction can also be addressed. If no further maintenance is performed, microbladed brows will eventually disappear.
